MoistScanŽ has its largest install base within the
Coal
sector.
From mines, washplants, power plants and steel works. Many other
industries also employ the use of MoistScanŽ in various stages of
their process.
ALUMINA

The MoistScanŽ MA-500 has proven to be
very compatible with applications within the
alumina making process, from mining of bauxite to the production of
alumina. Typically the
MoistScanŽ MA-500 obtains an instrument accuracy of 0.3%
for products such as alumina hydrate.
IRON ORE

An exhaustive program involving comparative analysis of in excess of 300
physical samples
was performed to verify the effectiveness of a
MoistScanŽ
MA-500HDi analyzer.
The analyzer was proven to have an accuracy of approximately 0.6% total
moisture
with an average product bed depth of 350mm over a moisture range of 8.0%
to 14%.
BAGASSE

Clients involved with the
MoistScanŽ
MA-500 currently include the Sugar Research
Institute (Australia), and the Racecourse Mill ( owned by Mackay
Sugar).
The MoistScanŽ MA-500 is installed either
after the crushers or after de-watering
of bagasse, before it is fed to the boiler.
NICKEL ORE

Clients utilizing
MoistScanŽ for nickel ore moisture control
currently include, SLN Nickel (New Caledonia) , Votorantin Metatis
(Brazil) and BHP Billiton. The QNI staff use the analyzer constantly
for metallurgical accounting.
