Microwave based techniques are the leading technology for on-line measurement of moisture in bulk materials. 
However, most current commercial microwave moisture analysers are not suited to highly attenuating materials. This detracts from their application in the analysis of iron ore and mineral concentrates. To overcome these problems a High Density version of the MA-500 on belt analyser was developed.

The HD version uses hardware developed for the mobile telephone industry and has helped in the production of a unit that uses no radioactive sources. The technology gives an improved dynamic range of measurement, superior measurement accuracy, high stability and significantly reduced purchase cost over other available technologies.

MOISTSCAN MA-600^PLUS

The MOISTSCAN MA-600 was designed to utilize the technology of the MA-500, but to apply it to light industry for pipes, hoppers, and vibrating trays. Callidan engineers have designed microwave antenna and wave-guides to suit a variety of applications.

Typically the MOISTSCAN MA-600 obtains an instrument precision of 0.3% for products with large moisture ranges. However precisions of 0.03% have been obtained for products such as sugar and powders, which have a calibration range of approx 0.5% total moisture. The main applications for the MA-600 include,

· Hoppers – for food, grain, cereal, dry particle, etc.
· Vibrating trays – for dried fruit, food goods, powder, plastics, etc.

The MA-600PLUS has the flexibility to measure more than just moisture. E.g. Salts and fat.

In pipe installation – for dairy industry, cheese, butter, and semi liquid products. This new advanced technology is perfectly suited for installations where the transport medium is via a pipe.

MA-800 PROBE The newest addition to the Moist///Scan range is our MA-800 probe. This unit was designed for installation into hoppers, bins, cookers and a myriad of other installation scenarios. The accuracy, resolution & repeatability of the MA-800 is hard to beat at any cost. The MA-800 retains the usual Moist///Scan attributes of being highly affordable, flexible with its installation procedure and reliable. Available in a range of lengths from 15cm to 40cm. Suitable for food grade hygenic installations.
